New Zealand Visitor Visa (Tourist Visa)
New Zealand Visitor Visa
New Zealand’s dramatic landscapes, friendly cities, and rich Māori culture make it a top destination for travellers. At Rio International, we make visiting New Zealand simple and reliable. Whether you’re coming for holiday, to visit family, or for short business, our team will guide you from paperwork to arrival.
Understanding the New Zealand Visitor Visa & NZeTA
-
Many travellers can enter New Zealand under the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA), while people from other countries must apply for a Visitor Visa.
-
A Visitor Visa generally allows stays of up to 6 months (multiple entry) or in some cases up to 9 months (single entry) — the grant notice will state the exact period.
-
Most travellers (including those on the visa-waiver programme) must also pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) — currently collected when you buy the NZeTA or when you apply for a visitor visa.
Application Assistance:
-
Help you determine whether you need an NZeTA or a Visitor Visa, and which stream fits your trip.
-
Assist with document collection: passport, travel itinerary, proof of funds, accommodation details, return/onward tickets, and evidence of ties to your home country.
-
Prepare and lodge the online application or the visa application at the correct visa application centre; advise on paying the IVL and any applicable visa fees.
-
Guide you through biometrics (if required), supporting statements, and responses to immigration requests.
Addressing Potential Challenges:
-
Advice for applicants with limited travel history, recent refusals, previous overstays, or borderline documentation. We’ll prepare clear supporting evidence to reduce refusal risk.
-
Help to interpret immigration communications and craft persuasive cover letters or additional evidence when requested by Immigration NZ.
-
If an applicant is from a country that normally requires a visitor visa, we’ll double-check the correct application pathway (visitor visa vs NZeTA) so there are no surprises on arrival.
